MOHAVE COUNTY –The ballot tabulation for the November 3 general election is complete in Mohave County. The Board of Supervisors plans to officially approve the canvass this Monday, November 16. The canvass will account for every ballot cast and ensures that each valid vote is included in the official results.
The supervisors in its official capacity, if it approves, will officially confirm that every valid ballot has been counted—absentee, early voting, Election Day, provisional, challenged, and uniformed and overseas citizen. (The canvass itself enables an election official to resolve discrepancies, correct errors, and take any remedial actions necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy before certifying the election.)
Mohave County Elections Director Allen Tempert says, “the election canvass plays an important role in the election process bringing closure to the entire process. The canvass is a summary of complete vote count for all candidates and ballot measures. If the canvass is approved it becomes the official tally of the vote count for the election. The Elections Department is pleased the way that Election Day went. For the most part it flowed very well.” The County tabulated its last ballot Thursday afternoon posting the final unofficial results shortly afterwards.
