KINGMAN — Emmanuel Christian Academy teacher Emily Ivey chose to do paper mâché with her third grade class as their end-of-the-year project—a project that used recycled copies of The Standard Newspaper.

The process took four days, she says. On day one, they did their first layer and let it dry, followed by a second layer on day two. They painted on day three and decorated their creations with beads, yarn and buttons on the last day.
In the end, they produced hot air balloons. Ivey says they turned out so well that they will probably do it again next year.
