Eighth Street project underway

KINGMAN – Work has begun on the Eight Street underpass drainage and roadway improvement project recently, which will reduce storm water runoff, reduce the duration of ponding, and limit the deposit of storm debris under the underpass, which will allow the underpass to be reopened to traffic sooner after a major storm event.

The total cost of the project is $479,000, and a large part of that funding will be paid through a grant the city of Kingman was awarded from the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program administered by the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (AZDEMA).

Full street closures are not anticipated at this time, however temporary, single-lane closures with flaggers will be utilized throughout the project. Project completion is expected for June 2020, barring any weather delays. Kinney Construction is completing the project.
