BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – On Friday, September 11, at about 8:20 a.m., Bullhead City Police responded to the Colorado River, 600 block of Highway 95, for a report of a person seen entering the water and never resurface.

Surveillance video in the area showed a woman park her vehicle, leave the engine running and enter the river fully clothed. Bullhead City Police responded with a patrol boat, dive team and Water Rescue & Safety personnel, who searched the area on personal watercraft. A local media drone also assisted.

Approximately three hours later, a witness reported seeing a body floating near the 1200 block of Riverfront Drive. The woman, identified as Melissa Marie Miley, 55 of Bullhead City, was recovered from the river and pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding why the woman entered the river are unknown. No foul play is suspected at this time.
