Donald Ray Marks, Jr.

“Gone Diving”

Donald Ray Marks, Jr., courageously left this life January 26, 2024 in Kingman, Arizona with his daughters by his side.

He was born May 5, 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was raised in Farmington, New Mexico and attended school, made friends, caused mayhem, and had countless adventures under the high desert sky.

Don was a decorated Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Paratrooper and the U.S. Marine Corps where he served his country in the Gulf War – Operation Desert Storm.

He was a skilled scuba diver, a passionate hobby he shared with his dad. He was also an avid lover of books, movies and music, of laughter and animals. His proudest achievements in life were his two daughters who provided care and comfort in his final days.

Don is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Kassandra and Natasha of Kingman. His sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Wayne Jensen of Las Vegas and his parents, Jerry and Kay Claborn of Kingman.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Virginia Henderson and Alma Wiles, and Clay and Eunice Claborn who were there to welcome him Home.

Cremation was handled by Sutton Funeral Home and his ashes will be scattered upon his favorite diving spots. No services will be held per his request and in lieu of flowers, please consider instead making a donation to your local animal shelter or the charity of your choosing.

“When you want to know I’ve made it Home and I am once again ME, take a ride on the water or a trip to the sea. That is where I’ll be. Alive and whole…and finally set free.”

Missed today, loved always. We’ll meet you at the shore.
