Credit union announces scholarship program

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community Federal Credit Union (MCFCU) has announced that they are offering three deserving scholars a chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship!

Entries for scholarships began February 1. Last day to submit the application is April 30 at 5 p.m.

Must meet all requirements as defined on the MCFCU Scholarship Application to be eligible for entry.

MCFCU believes that the number one renewable resource is the youth of Mohave County. By investing in the young citizens in thr community, they are planting the seeds of a brighter future backed with the tradition and values of this beloved region. The following are details of the scholarshiops.

• Three scholarships of $1,000 in value each will be awarded to three different individuals.

• Applicants must be enrolled and attending a school in Mohave County, grade 12 set to graduate in 2024. Verification of enrollment and official transcripts will be needed.

• GPA must be 3.5 or higher.

• Applicants must use the scholarship award for a trade school, community college, college, or university. Verification of enrollment will be needed before funds are distributed. Funds must be applied toward tuition, fees, and other educational expenses within one calendar year.

• Applicants need not be a member of Mohave Community Federal Credit Union.

• Applicants must turn in an essay of 1,500 words or less answering a supplemental question.

• Applicants must provide proper contact information: name, age, address, phone number, email address, and name of school they are attending along with school’s address, phone number and name of guidance counselor or dean of students.

• Applicants must also pass a free online course with Learning Lab by Green Path. greenpath.com/learninglab/ and turn in the certificate of completion for the course A1 Credit Tool: Learn to Improve your Credit Regardless of your Starting Point.

• Deadline for scholarships entries is 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

• Entries may be turned in by email to mcfcreditunion@citlink.net with subject heading: Keys to Success Scholarship Entry, or may be turned in physically or by mail to: Mohave Community Federal Credit Union, 2809 Stockton Hill Rd., Kingman, AZ 86401. Scholarship applications will be reviewed, and winners selected in May. The selection committee will be made up of the following: MCFCU’s employees, leadership team, and board of directors. The selection committee’s decisions are final. Winners agree to allow MCFCU to use their name and photo in various marketing methods at their sole discretion. MCFCU will not be responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected mail or email. Failure to follow all instructions may result in your application being disqualified.
