COVID-19 update: 13 new cases, one death

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (June 2, 2020) Late Tuesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 13 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. Also, there is a death of a person 80-89, a previously reported case in the Bullhead City area.

Of the 13 new positive cases, 12 are in the Bullhead City service area. Four cases are under investigation: one of those is 19-29; one is 30-39; two are 60-69.  Four cases are recovering at home and the case is under investigation. One of those is 19-29; one is 40-49; two are 50-59.

Two of the Bullhead City area cases are recovering at home and linked to another case.  One is 40-49 and the other is 50-59. One Bullhead area case is a 60-69 year age range person who is hospitalized and the case is under investigation. And one Bullhead area case is recovering at home, is a 19-29 age range individual, who is not linked to another case.

The final case is a 30-39 age range person in the Lake Havasu City service area, who is recovering at home and is linked to another confirmed case.

There are now 76 positive confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, including eight deaths, 226 in Kingman, with a total of 32 deaths there, and 8 cases in “North County,” formerly referred to as “Other”(composed of a number of smaller Mohave County communities,)  and 107 in Bullhead City, including five deaths.  There are now a total of 46 deaths in the county from the disease. Total positive cases, 417.

***NOTE: Periodically, Mohave County Department of Public Health staff review case information for accuracy and completeness. As a result of a recent review, the case count and respective demographic data will be adjusted slightly to show accurate data. There are a number of reasons for the adjustment, including the removal of cases that did not have a permanent address in Mohave County, reconciliation of cases reported twice or not originally reported, and removal of probable cases.

To summarize the adjustment: the total number of cases increases by one, the number of deaths does not change; Lake Havasu City and North Country each have one less case than previously reported while Kingman has two more cases and Bullhead City has one additional case.
