“Color Our World” summer reading program kicks off this week

MOHAVE COUNTY – Readers of all ages are invited to participate in Mohave County Library District’s 2025 Summer Reading Program, “Color Our World.” The 2025 Summer Reading Program runs from May 30 to July 12.

To launch Summer Reading, each branch will host an all-ages, free family event featuring children’s entertainer “Jolly Roger,” a magician and comedian based out of Phoenix. Join in for this fun event, filled with stories, laughter, and magic!

Summer Reading kick-off events will be held at the three main branch locations on the following dates and times:

Lake Havasu City Branch: Friday, May 30 at 3 p.m.;  Bullhead City Branch: Saturday, May 31 at 10 a.m.; Kingman Branch: Saturday, May 31 at 3 p.m.

These are ticketed events, and free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at each branch now. Tickets are required for entry.

Held annually, the Summer Reading Program is open to all ages and is designed to support literacy and strengthen reading skills outside of traditional school schedules. Participants can earn points and prizes by logging reading minutes, completing online challenges, and attending library hosted events.

Free themed activities and educational programs for babies, toddlers, children, teens, and adults are planned and may include family story times, art and craft projects, group games, STEM programs, and much more!

The 2025 Summer Reading program concludes on Saturday, July 12. Each branch location will host their own all-ages Wrap-Up event during the final week of Summer Reading with free activities and prize raffles for program participants.

Registration for “Color Our World” is free and starts on May 30 at: mohavecountylibrary.beanstack.com/reader365. For more information on 2025 Summer Reading and other library events, please visit mohavecountylibrary.us/. All library programs are free and open to the public.
