City of Kingman urges bar, restaurant compliance

KINGMAN, Ariz. – Governor Doug Ducey issued Executive Order 2020-09 that limits the operations of certain businesses to slow the spread of COVID-19.  Specifically, the order requires that all bars, movie theaters, indoor gyms and fitness clubs close public access in all counties that have a positive result for COVID-19.  Restaurants are limited to “dine-out” options including pick-up, delivery and drive-through options.

Mohave County does not have any confirmed cases, but the backlog of testing within the state is immense. Regardless, Mayor Jen Miles urges citizens, businesses and event promoters in Kingman to take immediate action to align with Governor Ducey’s Executive Order.  Mayor Miles stated, “Every day we delay measures to reduce gatherings, we increase the spread of this highly contagious virus.  I know many businesses are already implementing this order and I urge all to do so. Together, we will save lives by doing the right things.”

It is important for citizens to know that the federal government is expected to release federal assistance packages soon for small businesses and individuals to help sustain through this unprecedented time.  The city urges everyone to take all steps possible to preserve the health of oneself, neighbors and our community.  Voluntary compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines and Executive Orders is greatly appreciated.

  1. But St George has 4 confirmed cases! Which is only 25 miles from Beaver Dam Bar! And tons of St George people are flooding the bar from there and Mesquite NV!
