City of Kingman invites community to public open house on Trails Master Plan

City council

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman, in partnership with the J2 Engineering design team, invites community members to attend a public open house on Tuesday, August 12, at 5:00 p.m. in the Kingman City Council Chambers, located at 310 N. 4th Street.  The purpose of the open house is to engage the public in the development of the Kingman Trails Master Plan. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the City’s existing and planned trail systems, as well as provide input on future enhancements and features they would like to see.

“Our goal is to create a vibrant, accessible trail network that connects our community and celebrates the unique history and landscape of Kingman,” said the City’s Director of Parks and Recreation, Mike Meersman. “Community input is essential to shaping a plan that reflects the needs and values of both residents and visitors.”

J2 Engineering, the firm selected to lead the planning process, has already conducted a thorough inventory of current trails, open spaces, parks, and significant cultural and historic resources in and around the city. The Trails Master Plan will focus on identifying new trail alignments, enhancing existing facilities, and creating connections between key city features as well as potential linkages to nearby county and state amenities.

This is a key opportunity for the public to help shape the future of outdoor recreation in Kingman. All are encouraged to attend and share their feedback.
