City of Kingman invites community to Airport Area Annexation Workshop October 21

KINGMAN, Ariz. — The City of Kingman invites property owners, tenants, residents, business owners, and other interested community members to attend a workshop about the proposed Airport Area annexation, Case AN25-0002, on Wednesday, October 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. in City Council Chambers located at 310 N. Fourth Street.

The workshop will include a brief presentation explaining the proposed annexation and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about what it could mean for affected properties and the surrounding community. Development Services staff will explain the annexation process, discuss next steps, and answer questions.

The proposed Airport Area annexation includes approximately 3,415 acres adjacent to and surrounding the Kingman Airport, including portions of the industrial park, Route 66 commercial corridor, and airport-related land. The proposal is intended to support coordinated planning for future growth, infrastructure, services, and industrial, commercial, and aviation-related development.

Annexation would bring properties within the proposed boundaries into City jurisdiction. It does not, by itself, approve a particular development project. As development interests and discussions continue, the City is seeking to plan proactively for future land use, infrastructure, and service needs. Future development proposals would remain subject to applicable zoning requirements, development standards, and review processes.

Notices are being mailed to property owners regarding the workshop, but attendance is open to all interested community members. The City encourages those with questions to attend and hear directly from staff.

For questions or additional information, contact the City of Kingman Development Services Department at 928-753-8130. Annexation information, maps, frequently asked questions, and updates are available on the City’s Proposed Annexation webpage: https://www.cityofkingman.gov/government/departments-a-h/development-services/planning-and-zoning/proposed-annexation.
