KINGMAN – The City of Kingman will begin installation on a new water transmission main to improve water pressure and overall water service to those residents on the east side of the city. Construction for this project will start at the intersection of Ross Avenue and Washington Street, extending east to Eastern Street, north to Pacific Avenue, east to Sage Street, and northeast to Santa Rosa Drive.
This project is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 17th, and is expected to continue through approximately December 12th. Work will generally take place Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
During work hours, B&F Contracting, a contractor for the City of Kingman, will have heavy equipment, trucks, and crews on site to remove asphalt or gravel, excavate trenches, install new pipe, and replace asphalt or gravel to restore the street to its original condition. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times; however, intermittent interruptions may occur. The contractor will assist with driveway access as needed.
Affected residences will be notified in advance as construction progresses. Currently, B&F Contracting does not anticipate any water restrictions during construction.
The City is anticipating the following closures to occur in phases throughout the project as work progresses:
- The intersection of Washington Street and Ross Avenue will be closed. Local traffic on Ross Avenue should detour around the closure using Eastern Street.
- Eastern Street will be closed from Ross Avenue to Pacific Avenue. Pacific Avenue will be closed intermittently between Eastern Street and Sage Street.
- Santa Rosa Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Arcadia Avenue and Kingman Crossing Boulevard.
