City of Bullhead City approves public participation plan for General Plan Update

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Council has officially approved the Public Participation Plan (PPP) for the development of the City’s 2026 General Plan update.

The Public Participation Plan outlines how the City will actively engage residents, businesses, and community stakeholders throughout the General Plan update process. The plan is designed to ensure transparency, accessibility, and meaningful opportunities for public input as Bullhead City plans for its future.

“The General Plan is a roadmap for our community’s growth and development over the next decade,” said Bullhead City Public Information Officer Mackenzie Covert. “Public input is essential to making sure that the plan reflects the priorities and values of the people who live and work here.”

The General Plan addresses key topics such as land use, transportation, economic development, housing, infrastructure, and parks and recreation. Arizona law requires cities to update their General Plan every 10 years and obtain voter ratification.

With the approval of the Public Participation Plan, the City will begin a structured outreach effort that includes:

* A Community survey

* Public meetings and workshops

* Opportunities to provide feedback online

* Regular updates on the project’s progress

Residents are encouraged to take part in the process and help shape the future of Bullhead City.

Following the public engagement process, the updated General Plan will be considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council before being placed on the ballot for voter approval in November 2026.

Additional information about the General Plan update, including opportunities to participate, will be made available on the City’s website at BullheadCityAZ.gov/GeneralPlanUpdate.
