City Improves Lake Havasu Avenue

As the Lake Havasu Avenue construction nears completion, a series of intersection closures is required to allow for paving work, beginning Monday, May 20.

Closures at the Mesquite Avenue intersection occurs on Monday, May 20, and the Swanson Avenue intersection on Tuesday, May 21, to allow for base paving. Additionally, closures occur at the McCulloch Boulevard intersection on Wednesday, May 22, Mesquite Avenue intersection on Thursday, May 23, and Swanson Avenue intersection on Friday, May 24, to allow for the last leg of paving. These closures occur starting at 6:00 a.m. and lasting until 6:00 p.m. each day.

To access the Island on Wednesday, May 22, one lane is available southbound from Mesquite Avenue through the Chevron parking lot.  When leaving the Island, one lane is available for a right turn into Walgreens parking lot onto Lake Havasu Avenue, heading southeast towards Swanson Avenue.

The public is asked to use caution and follow the detour signs when traveling near the construction area. Please plan an alternate route, if possible.

As always, your patience in dealing with these traffic impacts is appreciated. Dates and construction activities may vary depending on weather and other unknown factors.  For more information, please contact Lake Havasu City at 928-854-0789.
