City employee lauded for life-saving efforts

KINGMAN –The City of Kingman is recognizing Utility Billing team member Janice B. for her life saving efforts. Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin, along with Fire Chief Jake Rhoades, and Utility Billing and Finance members presented Janice with a “Life Saving Award.”

While helping a customer pay her utility bill over the phone, Janice immediately noticed that something was wrong with the customer, because of her impaired speech. Janice took quick action and called the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office to request a welfare check. City of Kingman leadership was informed by the MCSO that the customer was experiencing a stroke, and that Janice’s call saved the customer’s life.

“Janice is a great example of working with an outside agency to provide the level of customer service we all strive toward,” said Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin. “With our doors closed to the public, we are still looking out for our community, and this is a perfect example of that,” Foggin said.

“Janice goes above and beyond on a daily basis and continues to prove herself an invaluable asset to the city and its citizens,” said Utility Billing Manager Michele Kuehner.
