Georgina Rochelle McMilon, of Kingman, died Friday, January 29, 2021. She was 49. Ms. McMilon was born Feb. 21, 1971 in Upland, Calif. A viewing will be held Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, with services following at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Kingman. The family contact is her father James Alvie McMilon. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
Byron Eldon Owens, of Kingman, died Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was 95. Mr. Owens was born in 1925 in Everton, Missouri. A service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Kingman, with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery. The family contact is his son Kenneth Eldon Owens. Oct. 19, 1930 to Jan. 21, 2021 Marty as he was known to many was born in Allegan, Michigan to Ernest W. and Elva VanOrman Swanty. He was the third of four children and was raised on the family farm until 1945 when the family relocated to Mesa, Ariz. He attended Mesa High School where he excelled in football, earning a scholarship to Northern Arizona University. Longtime resident Judy Ann (Finch) Smith who was born on February 13, 1939, to Arlise and Vernie Finch in Kingman Arizona died on Sunday, January 24, 2021 due to Covid-19 complications. Her father’s family arrived in Kingman Arizona in 1921 in an old Model-T leaving the Sacramento Mountains in New Mexico to start a new life in Kingman. The Elks Club and Courthouse were already here, but there were very few houses. What is now Topeka used to be the old Highway 66. It came down through Slaughter House Canyon and down that way.
