Snow slows Kingman Tuesday

KINGMAN – Four- to six-inch accumulations from an overnight snowstorm made for dangerous driving conditions in Kingman. Kingman police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers handled 11 traffic accident calls between 4:00 p.m. Monday and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. Cooper said minor injuries occurred in two of the crashes and that officers handled another 20 incidents involving rigs left stranded around the city. “El Trov Hill in the 1100 block of E. ATM thieves sought

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in a burglary that occurred in Golden Valley on Thursday, Jan. 21. Deputies responded to the American Legion, 3435 N. Verde Rd., for an active alarm and discovered the doors leading in had been pried open. An ATM machine had been removed from the building. Video surveillance showed two men entering the building at about 3:15 a.m. and heading straight for the ATM, loading it onto a moving dolly. Cerbat Justice Taylor retiring

KINGMAN – A Kingman judge is going to step down from the bench and into retirement this spring. Cerbat Precinct Justice of the Peace John Taylor, a former deputy Mohave County attorney, intends to call it a career on March 31. County supervisors are expected to accept Taylor’s resignation and establish guidelines for selecting a successor during their board meeting next Monday. Staff is recommending that recruitment begin immediately and that a four-member panel be established to screen and interview applicants. Prison sex brings prison sentence

KINGMAN – Two women who engaged in sexual activity with inmates at the state prison in Golden Valley appeared for separate Wednesday hearings in Mohave County Superior Court.
