Seligman, Ariz. — For the first time in almost 30 years, Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) biologists performed a re-introduction of ten endangered black-footed ferrets to the once-flourishing Aubrey Valley/Double O Ranch area, attempting to re-populate the only active recovery spot in Arizona.
LAUGHLIN, Nev. – Aquarius and Edgewater are hosting a silent auction of nine uniquely themed Christmas trees adorned with hundreds of festive ornaments and shimmering lights, including Everything Elf, Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Snowman, A Country Christmas, Christmas Movies, Christmas Wonderland Woodland Creatures, Coca-Cola Arctic Christmas, and Patriotic.
Six trees have already been sold, leaving Patriotic, A Country Christmas and Christmas Wonderland Woodland Creatures still available.
Jack Alexander, owner of Thunder-Rode thanks longtime resident and Kingman supporter Linda Owens and presents her with a Certificate of Appreciation for her continued support for the veterans of Kingman and Mohave County. Owens provides and makes available at no charge, seating for veterans in front of the Thunder-Rode so that veterans and their families can enjoy viewing parades in comfort. She has provided seating for the Andy Devine Days Parade, the Veterans Day Parade and other events held on Beale St. in downtown Kingman. Owens has been providing this service to the community and the honoring veterans for many years.
MOHAVE COUNTY – The County Jury Commissioner’s office reports that some scams are persistent, and a particularly deceptive one is making a comeback, “exploiting people’s fears.”
WASHINGTON – The Bureau of Land Management has announced the launch of five new public-private partnership agreements designed to place wild horses and burros into private care. These partnerships could receive up to nearly $25 million in funding over five years and help place approximately 11,000 additional wild horses and burros over and above the BLM’s existing adoption program.
Together, these agreements could help save taxpayers roughly $160 million by reducing the costs to care for unadopted wild horses and burros. Based on 2023 prices, the average cost is approximately $15,000 to care for a wild horse in BLM facilities
