MOHAVE COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Schuster was a big winner in Tuesday’s contested Mohave County primary election races. The re-election seeking incumbent grabbed 79% of the vote to turn back Mike Gannuscio’s challenge in the republican primary. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified today of 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also three deaths from previously reported cases. Two of the deaths are in the Bullhead City service area.  One is 70-79 and one is 80-89. The third death is an 80-89 person in the Lake Havasu City service area. Ten of the 12 new confirmed cases are in the Bullhead City area. All ten remain under investigation. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Effective Friday, July 31 at 11:59 p.m., the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado River District lowered fire restrictions from Stage 2 to Stage 1 for public lands in and around Yuma and Lake Havasu City, due to increased moisture in the area, and lower fire activity. It has been determined that the likelihood of a large wildfire has lessened to the degree that fire restrictions can be lowered in those areas.
