BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man stabbed his mother to death early Sunday, according to authorities. Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said officers responded at 4:15 a.m. to a residence in the 1100 block of Jasper Avenue. “It was reported that Travers Proulx got into an argument with his mother and started stabbing her with a knife,” Fromelt said.  “Proulx’s brother woke up to the sound of his mother screaming and tried to get Travers out of the house.” Fromelt said Proulx, 43, fled on foot after threatening to kill his brother and step-father. A young woman from West Jordan, Utah faces a possible prison sentence after pleading guilty in a traffic accident that claimed the life of a ten year old girl. Merissa Sloan, 22, will be convicted of causing death by use of a vehicle under terms of the plea deal unveiled Tuesday. The agreement would dismiss a negligent homicide charge associated with the April 29, 2018 single vehicle traffic accident at mp 15 on highway 68. BULLHEAD CITY –  Bullhead City woman allegedly possessed dangerous drugs and marijuana when she stole items from a business in the 5200 block of Highway 95. Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the store at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Asset Protection employees advised deputies that they observed a woman concealing something and that she exited the store when they tried to confront her over the item which she had not purchased. MOHAVE – An elderly, wheelchair-bound Fort Mohave man who harmed his disabled daughter will spend another month in custody before he is released from the Mohave County jail under terms of a plea agreement entered Wednesday. Dean Peters, 77, pled guilty to vulnerable adult abuse by domestic violence. Peters was arrested on June 25 after an incident in the 5900 block of S. A couple charged with stealing mail to find checks to alter and cash them is taking different approaches to resolving their criminal cases. Bobby Deboard, 34, and Ginger Deboard, 32, appeared for back to back hearings at the Mohave County Courthouse on July 31.  Both Deboards were already on probation for their fraud case involvement in 2016 when Bullhead City police began investigating a mail theft spree in September, 2018. Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the pair was suspected of passing counterfeit currency, making fake drivers licenses, stealing mail and altering and cashing checks when they turned themselves in January. The last of three defendants charged in a Bullhead City drug bust has been sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections. The trio was charged following a February, 2018 search that netted seizure of methamphetamine inside and outside a home in the 1800 block of Granada Drive. Matthew Sandman, 41, pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of attempted sale of dangerous drugs for sale. Sandman explained his involvement during Thursday’s sentencing hearing in Kingman.
