A Needles resident who recently accepted a mandatory prison plea agreement for his involvement in a Bullhead City-based opioid ring has taken another deal resolving four other criminal cases. Matthew Solari, 31, will get a 2.5 year prison term in the first agreement convicting him of possessing narcotic drugs and forgery for using a false prescription to obtain pills at a pharmacy in Lake Havasu City.    The first case that also involved seven other defendants was handled by the Arizona Attorney General’s office. Belligerent behavior at a fast food drive thru in Kingman that prompted his drug-related arrest sends a Peach Springs man to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle ordered a 2.5-year prison term during an April 16 sentencing hearing for Danny Powsey, 48.    Police reports indicated that Powsey drew attention to himself when he spoke rudely while interacting with staff at the drive thru at Taco Bell on Andy Devine Avenue last November.    Deputy county attorney Kellen Marlow said an employee spotted an open container of beer in the interior of Powsey’s vehicle….

  The death of a Bullhead City woman in Golden Valley is being investigated as a suspected hit and run incident. Mohave County Sheriff’s office deputies responded at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday April 23 to a report of a subject in the roadway in the area of Colorado Road and Brook Drive in Golden Valley.    Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Krisandrea Lynn Pannell-Cashen, 62, Bullhead City was dead at the scene. Pummeling and robbing a suspected snitch and later possessing more than a usable amount of heroin will result in a trip to the Arizona Department of Corrections for a Bullhead City man. A four year prison sentence is mandated in a plea agreement entered on April 23 for Jonathan Chades, 30. Chades pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of narcotic drugs for sale. Prosecutor Greg McPhillips said it was December 26, 2018 when Chades and two co-defendants confronted a man they believed to be an informant in the 700 block of Hancock Road. An attempt to smuggle drugs into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman was shut down at the point of intake Tuesday. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the discovery came at 5:00 p.m. when Jennifer Malynda Sparks, 38, Lake Havasu City was being processed and booked into the facility in Kingman.    “A body scan of Sparks revealed a foreign object and during interviews with staff Sparks admitted to swallowing the items three days before surrendering herself to ‘serve her time,’” Mortensen said.
