BLM partners with Boy Scouts on shoreline recreation site cleanup project

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has partnered with Boy Scouts of America on a shoreline cleanup project at Steamboat Cove, one of the most popular boat-in recreation sites on Lake Havasu. During the cleanup on September 22, access to the beach at Steamboat Cove will be temporarily restricted from 8 to 11 a.m. as Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts and Venturers work alongside BLM rangers to clean the beach and remove debris from the water. MOHAVE COUNTY – Tim Woods has declared intent to seek the republican nomination for District 1 Mohave County Supervisor. The general manager of the Mohave County Fairgrounds in Kingman said he wants to give back after getting such a warm reception in 2012. “When my wife and family and I moved here we had never been to Arizona before. Veteran Benefit Seminar open to all vets

KINGMAN – A Veteran Benefit Seminar will be held at the Elks Lodge on Gates Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.mm to 1 p.m. Disabled American Veteran National Service officers from Phoenix will be present to explain updates to the VA laws and claims processes. They will also be available to do a one-on-one with veterans wishing to appeal a decision or have questions on their claim. Service officers will be available to help veterans file an initial claim.
