KINGMAN – Master Gardeners will show you how to start seedlings on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10am-11:30am. All supplies provided but you’re welcome to bring your own seeds if you’d like. BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City, Mohave County probation, sanitation contractor Republic Services and citizens will partner in a community cleanup organized by a homeless task force. City Manager Toby Cotter says the target area runs from Home Depot to Community Park where illegal dumping and the homeless have left a mess along the Colorado River. “There have been some areas there that are really nasty,” Cotter said. The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) says taxpayers need to be mindful when selecting their tax preparers this tax season, because they are ultimately responsible for what is filed, regardless of who prepared the return. GOLDEN VALLEY – Horses and dogs have been seized and a Golden Valley woman has been arrested in an animal neglect case that remains under investigation. It was reported that one horse was dead as the Mohave County Sheriff’s office responded Wednesday afternoon to a request for an animal welfare check at a residence in the 5600 block of Lead Street. MOHAVE COUNTY – Complaints about taxation without service has prompted the Board of Supervisors to direct staff to investigate and report on the coverage area of the Mohave County Television District. Supervisor Ron Gould raised the issue following a Santa Fe Ranch property owner association resolution alleging its more than 2,700 members pay the county TV District tax but cannot get reception where they live outside Yucca. “We should not be taxing people if we’re not planning on ever giving them service,” association member Tim Krug said during Tuesday’s board meeting in Kingman.
