Teen injured in home blaze

BULLHEAD CITY – A juvenile suffered smoke inhalation in a Friday fire that destroyed a home in the 1800 block of Diamond Drive in Bullhead City. Fire Department personnel dispatched at 11:08 a.m. reportedly arrived to find a mobile home 75% involved in smoke with flames burning through side windows. MOHAVE COUNTY – District 3 Supervisor Buster Johnson thinks Mohave County should consider reforming its budgeting process to better manage resources and maximize efficiency. Johnson is asking the Board to support his push for each department to prepare budgets in two-year intervals. A memo from Johnson notes that staff spends an enormous amount of time in annual preparation of the county spending plan and his belief that it would be prudent for departments to build two-year budgets instead. “I want to make clear that this in no way will stop public hearings or actual adoption of a budget each year,”…

LHC PD earns accreditation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) has complied with dozens of benchmarks to achieve accreditation status. City manager Jess Knudson said the agency and its leaders worked hard last year to pass each of the necessary 174 standards. Knudson said the LHCPD is the 4th agency to earn the elevated status designation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Compliance, he said, is important going forward. “The work is far from over. There is an ongoing process of annual reporting and information gathering to share with the commission to make sure we maintain the status,”…

I, personally, detest waiting on anybody or anything and I suppose it can be chalked up to my being an A+ personality. I often wonder: Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Or, is it just what it is? Or, perhaps it is also because I have become a product of my environment as it seems that someone or something is always pushing us through life in such a way that we must move quickly or get out…
