Pro-life prayer service to be held

KINGMAN – The Philip Wisely Pro-Life group and the Knights of Columbus invite and welcome the Kingman community to a prayer service for life on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church on Spring St., at the Aborted Children’s Memorial. This pro-life organization will be praying the rosary for life from womb to tomb, as the 47th anniversary of Roe versus Wade is upon us.  This prayer service is held in coordination with the March for Life held in Washington, D.C., Jan. 24 and 25.

Lions to offer vets free vision screenings

KINGMAN – The Kingman Mohave Lions Club will be offering free vision screenings at the Veteran’s Resource Fair Friday, January 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kingman Elks Lodge, 900 Gates Ave. Other opportunities will also be available, including offering free HIV/HCV testing. This event is in lieu of the previous Veterans Stand Down held in Bullhead City. Grand Canyon National Park will join national park sites around the country in celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with free entrance to the park. Entrance fees will be waived for all visitors arriving to Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.  Visitors traveling to the South Rim are encouraged to check weather and road conditions before traveling to the park. Park staff also suggest visitors use shoe traction devices while visiting the Grand Canyon’s rim trail and trekking poles if hiking into the canyon as trails may be snow-packed and icy. Lowe promoted to Corporal

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the promotion of Jason Lowe to the rank of Corporal. He has demonstrated that he has the knowledge and experience to excel in his new rank at the Adult Detention Facility. Lowe is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Airport renames terminal to honor John Hastings

BULLHEAD CITY – Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport’s terminal building has been named the John R. Hastings Memorial Terminal in honor of its former board member and president.
