Missing person reported in Wikieup
WIKIEUP – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue is seeking information on the whereabouts of Robert “Bob” Meyers, a 73-year-old male last seen in the area of the Hidden Oasis RV Park in Wikieup about noon on Sunday, March 15. He had left on foot to go hiking and camping for a couple days and has not returned home. He has a backpack, some food, supplies, and a tent. Kingman corona update
KINGMAN – The City of Kingman has announced it is closing public access to all city buildings except the municipal courthouse for at least a two-week period beginning Monday, March 23. The measure is implemented to conform with social distancing guidelines set forth by the federal Centers for Disease Control. The City is also implementing public safety measures involving its court operations. Grand Canyon National Park transitions to limited services
GRAND CANYON – Grand Canyon National Park is announcing modifications to operations to implement the latest guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and local and state authorities. As of 12 p.m. on March 20, 2020, all Xanterra operated services within Grand Canyon National Park including lodges, restaurants and tours will suspend until May 21, 2020. As of March 22, 2020, the Yavapai Lodge, operated by Delaware North, will close until May 1, 2020. Kingman city offices to close for two weeks
Staffing levels maintained to handle customer service by telephone, email KINGMAN – Beginning Monday, March 23, all city buildings (except the Municipal Courthouse) will be closed to all public access until at least April 6. Based on guidelines issued by the President of the United States, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Arizona State Department of Health Services, the continued spread of COVID-19 is posing an increased public health risk, by not following those guidelines. Fire sprinkler system credited for saving area restaurant
BULLHEAD CITY – Thursday morning, March 18, the Bullhead City Fire Department (BHCFD) responded to a commercial fire alarm at Hibachi Grill, 2280 Highway 95, where they found light smoke coming from the rooftop. BHCFD gained access to an active fire in the kitchen area. The building was equipped with a fire sprinkler system that properly activated when the fire broke out, keeping the blaze contained with minimal damage. There were no injuries reported.
