BULLHEAD CITY – Only two COVID-19 coronavirus infections were initially detected when 500 people were tested in Bullhead City Saturday, May 9. Mohave County Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told the Board of Supervisors early Monday afternoon that the numbers were incomplete. The private contractor that conducted the testing at the Anderson Automotive Field House had not yet indicated the total number of negative and pending test results. Similarly, only two people among more than 200 tested in Kingman on May 2 were initially positive and no further infections were detected as the rest of the test numbers…

As National Police Week kicked off May 10, officers at Lake Mead National Recreation Area responded to more than 80 incidents, including two capsized vessels. National Park Service park rangers patrol the land and waters of Lake Mead National Recreation Area alongside wardens with the Nevada Department of Wildlife and Arizona Game and Fish Department to protect and serve the 15 million visitors who are in the park boundaries each year. “Public service is the backbone of America. Seasonal fire restrictions are now in place at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The restrictions are necessary to prevent wildfire during this period of extended drought and increased potential for wildland fires in Arizona and Nevada. The following acts are prohibited or modified, until further notice: Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire or campfire with any wood or charcoal burning device, such as a fire pit or grill, is prohibited within the backcountry, except along shorelines.
