BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Elementary and Colorado River Union High School District free summer meal program is adjusting locations on Monday (June 15).  Dropping one site and consolidating with another is based upon usage, district officials said. BULLHEAD CITY – An Ethiopian national residing in Las Vegas drowned on the Arizona side of the Colorado River on Thursday, June 11. The name of the 24-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin. Bullhead City police spokeswoman said the man who couldn’t swim was wading in the river when he stepped into a deeper pool and went under in the area of casino boat docks. The deceased was faced down on the river bottom when recovered by a Fire Department dive team member. Dave Hawkins

MOHAVE COUNTY – According to the National Weather Service, the word monsoon itself comes from the Arabic word “mausim,” which translates to season. Arizona’s Monsoon season officially brings on June 15, bringing with it the daily potential for high winds, lightning, and heavy bursts of rain. These storms can be very powerful, tossing debris around, down trees, power lines and cause flash flooding to occur.
