Comment period begins Sept. 18; public hearing to be held on Oct. 16 PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation will open an additional comment period for the revised 2021-2025 Tentative Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program on Friday, Sept. 18. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Council has approved municipal intervention in the Bermuda Water company rate case pending before the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) in Phoenix. The city will seek standing in the matter scheduled for formal hearing early next year. “They have proposed a 24% increase for south Bullhead City residents and those outside the city limits,” city manager Toby Cotter said late last month. MOHAVE COUNTY – Split votes on coronavirus mask mandates netted different results in Bullhead City and Kingman Tuesday. The Bullhead City council voted 4-3 to lift the Colorado River community’s face-covering requirement Wednesday. A 2.5-hour-long town hall style debate occurred at the Kingman Council meeting. The discussion reflected the sharp divisiveness of mask policy and other COVID-19 measures and restrictions. Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter and council member Deana Nelson dissented in the 5-2 vote to keep the Kingman face covering policy in effect until the council revisits the matter during its October 20 meeting. MOHAVE VALLEY –  Mosquito surveillance conducted this past week in Mohave Valley by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed the following locations that met the protocol to conduct fogging. The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide on when to fog. FOGGING: Adult mosquito control application will begin this Friday, September 18 around 8:00 pm, weather permitting.
