MOHAVE COUNTY – Dist. 2 Sup. Hildy Angius is challenging meeting rules that Dist. 3 Sup. Buster Johnson imposed when he began his year-long run as Chairman of the Mohave County Board on Jan. 4. Angius is asking  supervisors next week to overturn Johnson’s decision to move the Call to the Public to the end of board meetings. Dot Foods, Inc., the largest food industry redistributor in North America, has partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) to identify and donate food to disaster relief agencies across the U.S.  Since mid-March, Dot has donated more than $10 million worth of food.  While Dot immediately began donating to local agencies when COVID hit, it had more product available than the local food banks and pantries surrounding its 12 U.S. distribution centers could take.  So, Dot turned to FEMA. “The relationship with FEMA has given us an opening to work with large national agencies that are in the forefront of disaster…

BULLHEAD CITY – Laughlin town founder Don Laughlin was the key figure in proposing and funding construction ago of the bridge that spans the Colorado River, linking Bullhead City with the town of Laughlin, near Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino. City manager Toby Cotter told council members Jan. 5 that the bridge that opened to traffic in 1987 was never formally named, and is actually known as “B-1847”. KINGMAN – Safe Site will be in the downtown area over the next two weeks to conduct pothole investigations that will greatly assist the city in the design to mitigate utility conflicts once construction starts on the Downtown Sewer Outfall Relocation Project. The potholing will take place on Route 66/Andy Devine Ave., 1st and 2nd Streets (both sides of the railroad), Topeka St., and Old Trails Road. Work crews can be expected to start early next week and should continue for approximately two weeks.
