Local organization working to bring human trafficking awareness

Futures Without Fear, the Mohave County Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Coalition, is a newly formed multi-disciplinary coalition to build capacity, raise awareness and provide services to minor victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. In February 2020, a group of concerned citizens convened a group to discuss ways to bring awareness of human trafficking in Mohave County to light, and to discuss what services are available, or could be strengthened to serve victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. Walmart reopens after deep cleaning

KINGMAN – The sun came up and Walmart reopened its Kingman supercenter this morning. Walmart shut down the store for what it called a “deep cleaning” from 2:00 p.m. Monday until 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. The company provided a statement to the city of Kingman prior to closure indicating the store cleansing is part of the corporation commitment to public safety as it monitors COVID-19 infections in the communities it serves. There’s community speculation about possible coronavirus infection among the Walmart workforce. There was no mention of that in the corporate communication to the city. Dave Hawkins

Jungle Smoke and Vape celebrates second anniversary

KINGMAN – The community is invited to celebrate the second anniversary of Jungle Smoke and Vape, at 117 N. Sixth St., on Saturday, Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a raffle for a quilt of valor and store products values at more than $2,000.
