KINGMAN – Mohave County is mourning the loss of Yvonne Orr, its Administrative Services Director. Orr had been treated for an unspecified period of time at Kingman Regional Medical Center before she was transferred to a Phoenix hospital where she died Thursday. “With a very sad and heavy heart I inform you that Yvonne Orr passed away today,” county manager Sam Elters said in a memo to county employees. “Her family is in a state of shock and have asked for privacy.” Elters’ memo asked that the family not be contacted and it did not indicate a cause of Orr’s…

Gary Victor Muir passed away June 30, 2021 in Kingman, Arizona. He was born in Palo Alto, California 73 years ago. He was the son of Ray and Esther Muir. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan of Chloride, Ariz.; his son Kevin Muir of Hawaii; and stepson David Miranda of California. KINGMAN – On Monday, Mohave County’s three legislators updated the Kingman Republican Women on the results of the 55th Arizona Legislative session. Senator Borrelli (R) displayed a sample of a new ballot that is virtually impossible to counterfeit. The ballot features special paper with a hologram, a QR Code, and a copper infused image of the State of Arizona which can be scanned and if it doesn’t beep it is suspect. OATMAN – Two write-in candidates have unseated incumbents in a special recall election in the Oatman Fire District. Results from Tuesday’s balloting remain unofficial pending canvas. A Mohave County Elections Department post indicates challenger Darin Lowrey knocked off board chairman James Tobin 25-4. Challenger Ronnie Walker beat Board Clerk Mike Gonzales 24-0.
