KINGMAN – Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the top nominees for the 2024 Andy Awards, honoring those who have made exceptional contributions to the betterment of the Kingman community. These awards celebrate the legacy of Andy Devine, a true hometown legend, and recognize outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations across multiple categories.

Below are the top nominees in each category.

Student of the Year: Emmalynn Faris, Sophia Meredith, Maysen Victory, Joseph Tadlock, and Bella Zietz.

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In honor of K12 Foundation’s Teacher Appreciation Day, the nonprofit hosted a special casino themed event to give our local teachers some well-deserved recognition. This year’s annual celebration took place on Thursday, September 12 at London Bridge’s Convention Center. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG), will be hosting a Reach Out and Play event with the seniors of our community. WACOG is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering communities through their various programs.

WACOG’s programs provide assistance for children, healthcare, housing support, and senior outreach. Next week, the organization will be partnering up with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)

Mohave County Fair was a hit with young and old alike

KINGMAN – People from all over the county unite for the annual Mohave County Fair, a four-day-long event, throng with lights and thrilling rides for all ages. Mohave County citizens travel from hours away to visit the Mohave County Fairgrounds in Kingman from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15. Booths from organizations and businesses throughout the county were scattered outside and inside the center, and murals of artwork from Mohave County artists were hung on the center’s walls.

Pioneer Country Gun & Knife Show

KINGMAN – Pioneer Country Gun & Knife Show will host their annual Gun & Knife, Coins & Collectibles Show at College Park Community Center, 1990 Jagerson Ave. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The event is open to the public. Admission is $7 per day or $12 for both days. Kids 16 and under are free with adult paid admission.
