Bullhead City deemed ‘most affordable city’

BULLHEAD CITY – The Cost-of-Living Index (COLI) Annual Average Data report for the second quarter of 2019 was just released and Bullhead City is once again the most affordable city in Arizona and one of the most affordable cities in the nation. Bullhead City was reported again as the most affordable city in Arizona with an overall composite index of 91.1 percent. This report represents the average prices submitted by the participating 255 urban areas nationwide. Residents protest Gillette’s racist comments

KINGMAN – More than a dozen people staged a peaceful demonstration before Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman, drawing public attention to their view that Planning and Zoning Commission member Lajuana Gillette recently posted insensitive comments on her Facebook page. They held signs and placards as they positioned along a sidewalk area at the entrance to the county complex downtown. Devries calling it quits after four decades

Intends to retire April 30, 2020 KINGMAN – The City of Kingman’s top cop intends to wrap up a four decades-long law enforcement career next spring. Police Chief Bob Devries has circled April 30, 2020 on his retirement calendar. “I turn 62 and it’s time,” Devries said. “We’ll have had some significant accomplishments into the coming year” Devries is primarily referring to the ongoing effort to achieve national accreditation for the department. Browning of America comments stand, Gillette refuses to recant

MOHAVE COUNTY – Embattled Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commissioner Lajuana Gillette addressed her critics Wednesday. A number of citizens have complained about what they contend to be insensitive, if not racist, social media posts authored by the Lake Havasu City resident.
