MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County supervisors have scheduled a special Friday, March 20, board meeting involving the coronavirus. Board Chairman Jean Bishop said she anticipates discussion of possible further restrictions related to library operation. Bishop said personnel matters must also be addressed as the county contemplates making distinctions between essential and non-essential services, employee leave and working from home scenarios. The board meeting at the County Administration facility is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. As of posting time, The Standard did not have information regarding whether this meeting will be televised/online live, and whether public attendance will be limited/available….

KINGMAN – The Kingman “Powerhouse” Visitor Center is tentatively adjusting its hours of operation beginning March 22. The new hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., closed Sundays and Mondays. The decision to temporarily adjust opening hours came in light of the reliance on volunteers, and to accommodate some team members who are home with children, while schools are closed. KINGMAN – Medical providers recently took a swab sample from a patient with respiratory symptoms who came to the KRMC emergency room.  The sample was subsequently sent to a reference laboratory for testing. The test results were returned Wednesday, March 18, which were inconclusive. This means that COVID-19 has not been ruled out, nor has it been confirmed definitively. At this time, this is not a presumptive positive nor a confirmed positive. However, the patient has been advised to self-quarantine and the case should be managed as positive until further testing determines conclusive results.

KINGMAN – City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles signed a Declaration of Local Emergency yesterday, March 17, in order to potentially receive state or federal relief funds, as they may become available during or after the COVID-19 pandemic. Citizens are urged to cooperate with this emergency declaration, especially those guidelines determined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). There are currently no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kingman or Mohave County.
