To help Arizona’s hospitals weather the impact of COVID-19, Governor Doug Ducey announced today that the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will work with its provider partners to make available more than $50 million in accelerated hospital payments and advances and extend an additional $5 million in new COVID-19 related funding to Critical Access Hospitals throughout the state. Local Pizza Hut owners donate $70,000 to charity

KINGMAN – A chain of eateries owned by Kingman resident Krystal Burge and her brother Mark Peterson have been lauded for a generous charitable contribution. The 89 Pizza Huts restaurants owned by the sister-brother business partners worked together to raise more than $70,000. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County officials reported three more positive coronavirus cases Wednesday, and two Thursday, bringing the county total to 28. The latest two cases are from the Kingman area. County Communications Director Roger Galloway said a second death of an elderly person (65+) with underlying chronic health conditions has occurred in Lake Havasu City. MOHAVE COUNTY – Havasu Regional Medical Center has informed the Mohave County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) of the death of an elderly person (65+) with underlying chronic health conditions. This is the second COVID-19-related death in Mohave County. The first was also an elderly person hospitalized with underlying chronic health conditions in Lake Havasu City. MCDPH nursing staff was notified late this afternoon, Wednesday, April 8, of two COVID-19 positive patients from the Kingman service area.
