Teen sustained minor injury in BHC brush fire

BULLHEAD CITY – A female juvenile was treated for minor burn injuries to her feet suffered during a lunch hour brush blaze in Bullhead City Monday. Firefighters responded at 12:17 p.m. to the incident in the 1700 block of Toro Road. Spokeswoman Lori Viles said personnel encountered fire spread from a vacant lot extending to multiple exposures on Williams Drive. She said two wooden fences and a carport area were protected from flames. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Dave Hawkins

COVID-19 update: 85 new cases of all ages groups

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 85 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. Thirty-five of the new cases are in the Bullhead City service area. There are also 32 cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. The Kingman service area has 15 new cases. North County has three new cases. Of the 35 Bullhead City area cases, all of them remain under investigation and although they are confirmed positives, more information is required. Paper applications will be accepted by mail beginning July 20 Arizona hunters will have an opportunity to receive a hunt permit-tag for select 2020 deer, fall turkey and fall youth-only javelina hunts. MOHAVE COUNTY – North Kingman rancher and businessman Mike Gannuscio wants to return to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office to lead the department in a new direction. Gannuscio is challenging re-election seeking Sheriff Doug Schuster in the upcoming republican primary election. Gannuscio was an equipment mechanic, fabricator and welder when he moved from California to Arizona in 2001 to help his parents run their business in Meadview.
