Drought concern persists for southwest

WASHINGTON – Modeling results for the Colorado River Basin operations released today by the Bureau of Reclamation indicate continued drought and an increased chance of potential water shortages by 2025. The Colorado River Basin is in its 21st year of an extended drought. As reservoir levels decline, Lake Powell and Lake Mead operations are potentially impacted. Mask recall afoot in Kingman

KINGMAN -The City of Kingman’s coronavirus-related mask mandate has prompted a recall campaign targeting the mayor and three city council members. James Coffman said he pulled papers Monday seeking the ouster of Mayor Jen Miles and that his father has followed through Thursday with a secondary effort proposing the recall of Council members Jamie Scott Stehly, SueAnn Mello Keener and Ken Watkins. UniSource extends hold on service disconnections, late fees through end of 2020

MOHAVE COUNTY – UniSource Energy Services is extending its suspension of service disconnections and late fees for nonpayment through the end of the year to provide additional flexibility for customers facing financial hardship during the coronavirus pandemic. UniSource began its voluntary suspension in March in response to the public health crisis. Since then, the company has provided payment extensions, enrollment in short-term assistance and bill discount programs for qualifying limited-income customers.
