MOHAVE COUNTY – Split votes in selecting a new Chairman and canvasing the Nov. 3 general election results highlighted Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. It began with Dist. 2 Sup. Hildy Angius’ motion to appoint Dist. 5 Sup. Ron Gould as Chairman for the next year as the Board has generally rotated in new leadership annually. Bishop recall underway

MOHAVE COUNTY – Dist. 4 Mohave County Sup. Jean Bishop earned a new four-year term Nov. 3, but a Golden Valley businessman hopes to oust her from office next spring. Robert Hall launched an effort to recall Bishop one week before the general election. “I’m very confident. We’ve already collected over 2,000 signatures and it’s only been since I filed the paperwork,” Hall said. 2,998 valid petition signatures are required to force a recall vote and Hall said they want to collect 4,000-5,000 to provide a cushion where signatures might be disqualified. “We’re going to go for it,” Hall said….

KINGMAN – – On November 3, Midwestern University awarded Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) with research funding through their newly established grant program “Improving Healthcare Delivery and Reducing Healthcare Disparities in Underserved Minority Communities.” KRMC’s research project, “Analysis of Factors Predicting Clinical Outcomes of COVID-19 Diagnosis among Rural Minority Populations,” studies the impact and clinical outcomes of COVID-19 on rural minority patients.
