KINGMAN – Kingman’s motel industry suffered some decline because ten months of last year were impacted by coronavirus pandemic. However, Tourism Services Manager Josh Noble told Economic Development Commissioners this week that Kingman fared better than many other communities. Noble said Kingman motels averaged 63.5% occupancy in 2020 and that the average room rate charge was just under $69, resulting in a 12% revenue loss compared with the previous year. After so many projects fell by the wayside over so many years, the White Hills Wind project initiated commercial scale production on Dec. 16, about 40 miles north of Kingman.
