KINGMAN – Frozen Yogurt Island is celebrating nine years of business this week in Kingman. Owners Nancy and Martin Villanueva are observing their anniversary by offering half off on all yogurt all day on Friday, Dec. 6. The Villanuevas also offer a veterans discount all day everyday. The Villanuevas decided to create Frozen Yogurt Island in 2010 due to Kingman needing more dessert locations. KINGMAN – On November 22, Kingman High School (KHS) hosted Lee Williams High School and Lake Havasu High School for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Knowledge Bowl competition. The students competed in tests and judged events ranging over a variety of business aspects. The students also had the chance to network with fellow attendees and professionals, grow their leadership skills, and work towards building a successful career. KINGMAN – On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Scott and Emilie Preston of Preston Investments, presented a check for $5,000 to the Kingman Police Department (KPD) to be used for officer safety. The funds will be used for equipment and supplies that will enhance the safety of KPD officers. MOHAVE COUNTY – A meeting for the Mohave County Board of Supervisors was held on Dec 2. During the meeting three separate issues pertaining to safety and resident welfare were addressed. Amanda Kaufman of Kingman raised concerns about the safety of public roads during the inclement weather. Kaufman spoke about the recent difficulties of the Pine Lake community of the Hualapai Mountains. Kaufman mentioned years of snow and ice storms and drivers struggling to drive safely. Asphalt pavement repair at Oro Grande Blvd Wednesday

LAKE HAVASU CITY – To fix the failed pavement section at Oro Grande Boulevard, caused by a water main break, the Lake Havasu City Maintenance Services Division is closing Oro Grande Boulevard in both directions from Yattahhey Drive to Osage Drive. Work is scheduled to occur between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Wednesday December 4, subject to weather and other conditions. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes, allow themselves extra travel time and follow all construction signage.
