MCC Kingman campus nursing students honored at ceremony

KINGMAN – Another class of registered nurses graduated from Mohave Community College. Fourteen graduates have each earned their Associates of Applied Science in Nursing degree and have taken the next step into their career. Nursing students recently had their pinning ceremony where they were accompanied by friends, family, staff and faculty. Shivam Bhakta, nursing staff, presented the Clinical Excellence Award to Noopur Patel. The award is given to the student that performed above and beyond the standard expectation of their roles in terms of commitment to education and learning. KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council at their Dec. 17 meeting addressed filling vacancies for the Clean City, Planning & Zoning, PARG, and Transit Advisory Commissions. Mike Blair was appointed to a seat on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission currently has a second seat that remains vacant. Clean City Commissioners C. Russell, Kathy Bowman and Na’qui “Nikki” c’Way’ya, were each reappointed for new terms. Regina Garcia submitted her resignation from the commission; Teresa Woods was appointed in Garcia’s place. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to introduce their two newest deputies who graduated from the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy on Friday, Dec. 13. Laurel Holdway and Joshua Bare completed a 20-week academy where they gained knowledge in criminal and traffic law, criminal investigation, defensive tactics, and much more. Bullhead City struggles to fill P&Z seats

BULLHEAD CITY – Vacant Planning & Zoning Commission seats was addressed at the Dec. 17 Bullhead City Council meeting. The commission currently has two vacancies and one potential appointee, Aaron Lopez.
