Human Bean construction underway in Kingman

Initial construction is underway where a new coffee shop will soon be going vertical in Kingman. The community’s second Human Bean store is being built just southwest of Taco Bell, in the old Kmart parking lot along Andy Devine Avenue. Coronavirus Response: MCC extends spring break for students, urges prevention not panic

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College will extend spring break one week for students, and cancel public events on its campuses in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The announcement was made during the College Governing Board meeting on Friday, March 13. Students begin spring break on March 16, and will resume classes on March 30. River solar proposals heard by commission

Projects to be heard at BOS meeting FT. MOHAVE – The first was rejected and the second was approved when rival Fort Mohave solar power project proposals were heard during Wednesday’s Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. The Commission first took up an Elite Southwest Holdings project that is quite similar to the one it voted down last December. Applicant Brandon Butcher expressed disappointment and frustration because he said Elite found a better location and reduced public safety concerns by switching technology involving solar power battery storage. “I’m against this project,” said Commission member Bill Abbott, siding with residents…

Major League Baseball to delay 2020 opening day by at least two weeks; qualifier games postponed indefinitely

Following a call with the 30 Clubs, and after consultation with the Major League Baseball Players Association, Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. today, March 12, announced that MLB has decided to suspend Spring Training games and to delay the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus pandemic.  “This action is being taken in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, Clubs and our millions of loyal fans,” said Manfred.
