Candidate packets available for Lake Havasu City elections

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Packets containing information, forms, documents and petitions necessary for a Lake Havasu City resident to run for City Council in the Fall Election are available, starting on Monday, January 6. Three Councilmember seats are on the ballot for the Fall Primary Election on August 4. Those seats are currently held by Councilmembers Gordon Groat, Donna McCoy, and Vice-Mayor David Lane.

Prospective candidates can pick up packets directly from the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall anytime during regular office hours.  Candidates must be 18 years of age or older at the time of filing nomination papers, a qualified elector of Lake Havasu City, and have resided within the corporate limits of the city at least one year prior to the election.

All properly executed documents, including nomination petitions containing no fewer than 645 and no more than 1,289 signatures must be filed in the City Clerk’s Office between March 9 and April 6.
