Burglary suspect charged; investigation continues

Jazmen Hickstein

MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s office reports the arrest of a Mohave Valley woman in a burglary investigation. 29-year-old Jazmen Hickstein is charged with burglary, theft and trafficking stolen property.

Hickstein was arrested following a Jan. 15 warrant-based search of a Mohave Valley home in the 10000 block of S. Queens Rd. The search was follow-up by investigators looking into a break-in last August where another Mohave Valley home was burgled while unoccupied for several months.

“Items stolen from the house included the victim’s vehicle, tools, electronics, jewelry and mail,” said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “Several of the items stolen during the burglary were recovered during the search warrant, along with items of evidentiary value indicating involvement by Jazmen Hickstein in the initial burglary.”

Mortensen said five other subjects contacted at the home face lower-level charges for possessing drugs or drug paraphernalia, and animal law offenses for two of them. She said several vehicles were hauled from the search site and that additional suspects are outstanding as the investigation continues.
