Bullhead to host ribbon-cutting for new ADA river ramp

BULLHEAD CITY – The City of Bullhead City invites the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of a new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant wheelchair-accessible river ramp at Community Park. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, just south of the Bullhead Belle.

The project marks the first of its kind in Bullhead City, the new ramp offers direct, ADA-compliant access into the water, ensuring that individuals of all abilities can safely enjoy the river. This milestone project reflects the City’s unwavering commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities and making parks more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone.

The ramp was developed as part of the City’s recently adopted Community Park Master Plan, which aims to transform the park into a vibrant, inclusive community destination. The project also features two ADA-accessible concrete parking spaces, as well as a curb, gutter, and connecting sidewalk that links both the Bullhead Belle and the parking area to the new ramp.

To ensure community-wide access to the event, the City will waive parking fees at Community Park beginning at 4 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.

Following the ribbon cutting, the celebration will continue with live music from local performer Tyler Halsey, and guests are encouraged to visit the Bullhead Belle for food, refreshments, and additional festivities.

“We’re proud to deliver a project that expands recreational access for all members of our community,” said City Manager Toby Cotter. “This ramp is a major step forward in making the river more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
