BULLHEAD CITY — Bullhead City police have released the name of the local resident who took his own life when contacted by officers on June 20. Sergeant Eddie Espinoza has identified the man as Stephen Gaudio, 58.

Espinoza said officers determined that Gaudio was present at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Campbell Road when they visited regarding a warrant for his arrest issued by San Bernardino County in California.

“Police attempted contact and began making announcements requesting the suspect exit the apartment and surrender,” Espinoza said. “The suspect eventually walked out onto a 2nd story balcony of the apartment he was in, and committed suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Arriving paramedics pronounced Gaudio deceased. His name was withheld until next of kin was notified of his death.
