Bullhead City seeks to fill various commission and board seat vacancies

BULLHEAD CITY – The City of Bullhead City has various Commission and Board seats available for citizens to serve. The City Clerk’s Office is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering for the following positions:

The Building Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction, and provides a reasonable interpretation of the International Building Code, meeting infrequently on an as-needed basis. One seat with a two-year term is available, and one seat with a partial term expiring in six months is available.

The BATS Commission makes recommendations to the Bullhead City Council regarding the development and maintenance of a public transportation system for the city. The BATS Commission meets quarterly on the first Monday of February, May, August, and November, and holds special meetings as required. Four seats on the BATS Commission are currently available. All seats have terms expiring on September 30, 2027.

The Parks and Recreation Commission provides recommendations to the City Council regarding the planning, development, operation, and maintenance of city-owned parks and recreational programs, and meets monthly. One seat with a two-year term is available, and one seat with a partial term expiring in six months is available.

The Planning and Zoning Commission provides recommendations to the City Council on the best present and future use to which land and buildings shall be put within the city, and meets monthly. One seat with a partial term expiring in six months is available.

To be eligible, an applicant should have a general understanding of the issues addressed by the Commission or Board seat they are applying for and reside within the Bullhead City limits.

Appointments are made by the Bullhead City Council.  Those submitting applications to the City Clerk prior to Monday, January 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. will be considered for appointment at the Tuesday, January 20, 2026 City Council meeting.  Applicants are invited to attend this meeting.
