Bullhead City Police investigate deceased woman found in burglarized home

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department is investigating the discovery of a deceased woman inside a residence that appears to have been burglarized.

On Friday, January 16, at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased person inside a home in the 1600 block of Turquoise Road. A neighbor reported that an unknown male told him while passing by that there was a deceased woman inside the home and that her vehicle had been stolen. The neighbor entered the unlocked residence and found the woman deceased on a couch.

Officers observed that the body was in a mummified state, and detectives believe the woman had been deceased inside the home for several months. According to the Medical Examiner, there are no immediate signs of foul play. However, preliminary evidence indicates the home may have been ransacked after the woman’s death, and investigators believe her vehicle was also stolen.

The body will be turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation. At this time, the death appears to be from natural causes. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.

This is an active investigation; therefore, no further details will be released at this time.
