Brush fire reported in Body Beach near Havasu

LAKE HAVASU — At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, a brush fire was reported by passing motorists in the area of Body Beach. Witnesses described flames reaching approximately 20 feet in height. The first-arriving fire company confirmed an active brush fire in a location that was difficult to access. Fortunately, the fire was contained upon arrival and was not actively spreading. 

Lake Havasu Fire Department responded with two engines and a Battalion Chief. Mutual aid was requested from Desert Hills Fire District, which responded with a Battalion Chief and a brush truck. The fire was extinguished and did not spread further. Fire crews remained on scene for an additional two hours to conduct overhaul operations.
