Dear Editor,
“Deliver us, Lord!” was the anguished cry from the people of Judea following years of brutality and enslavement by a cruel government in a cruel land. The promised coming of a Messiah, who would free them from their suffering, was their only hope.
This promise and its fulfillment is echoed by the celebrated Cantata Choir of Community Lutheran Church in the dramatic “Born a Savior, Born a King.” The anthems, breathtaking in their delivery under director Shawn Bristle, recount this Biblical event of human bondage and liberation through the birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. In this story from ages past, the Holy Child would come at last.
For years a cherished Bullhead City Christmas tradition, the Cantata, accompanied by a program of seasonal readings, caroling, choral arrangements, and instrumental selections, is a holiday event bound to uplift the hearts of everyone through music and song.
Join us in celebrating the joy and miracle of Jesus’ birth. Two Cantata performances are being offered: Friday, December 19, 7:00 PM, and Sunday, December 21, 3:00 PM, both Arizona time. There is no cost to attend. Ample parking, includinga large number of handicap spaces, is available.
