Body found floating in lake identified

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident of a deceased man found floating face down in Lake Havasu near a business in the 1300 block of McCulloch Blvd. on October 5.

Fingerprints from the body were obtained during autopsy and sent to Homeland Security for analysis and identification. On Friday, Nov. 8, detectives were notified that the fingerprints belonged to Hyok Kyo Chong, 52, of California. Further investigation revealed that Chong had

been reported missing out of Los Angeles, Calif., by family. Next of kin was notified of the findings.

No obvious signs of trauma or foul play were observed and the cause of death is still under investigation.
